Did you try the method provided by Noel
Giffin, listed below? It has worked well for me, although I still cannot do an
Alt-tab switch back to windows - I have to stop Fractint to get back. No more
crashes, though, and I can use many video modes.

now happily switching back and
forth on Win XP Pro from windows
applications to Fractint with no
