For those who care, see for the accurate facts on this issue.
The 'facts' (as you put it) on that web page, only state the following: "The last change in language came on Flag Day 1954, when Congress passed a law, which added the words 'under God' after 'one nation'." Yes, Congress did pass this, but it does not mention the whole story behind what initiated that modification. Nor does anything on that web page dispute what I stated. Besides, the American Legion were the ones involved in modifying the original "Pledge of Allegiance" in 1923-24, over the protests of it's author Francis Bellamy. Why should they tell what was the agenda behind all the modifications. It is well known, and quite factual, that during the 1950's the federal government's references to God multiplied considerably. Since their are hundreds of more web pages with less biased and political view points, and much more real truth, I would suggest a full search and reading of them before believing what one individual points us to. ;-} Try a search engine with these keywords: "witch hunt" "Pledge of Allegiance" "under god" http://www.religioustolerance.org/nat_mott.htm http://members.tripod.com/CORT_BOL/BOLart1.html http://www.themilitant.com/1998/6211/6211_28.html etc.... So please keep up your blatant attacks against me in all the forums you do this in. Everybody sees what you are really up to. ;-} Sincerely, P.N.L. -------------------------------------------------------------- http://www.fractalus.com/cgi-bin/theway?ring=fractals&id=43&go
