The recent passing of Stephen Hawking has filled me with a great sense of
loss. He was an unbelievable inspiration and explorer of the universes -
both inward and outward.
This audio fractal, which I first created in 1999, is dedicated to him.
"Requiem"

Headphones or high quality speakers are recommended.
Enjoy!

Well, there's not much competition for bandwidth right now, so I guess now
is as good a time as any to upload an audio fractal. I'm sorry that
Albrecht split again since I thought it might be interesting to throw
around differing ideas and viewpoints. Perhaps someone(s) else? Anyway,
this file is derived from the included .par file. If you run the par file,
note that it forces SF7 video mode. If that is not 1024x768x256 on your
setup, please restart the par using a 1024x768x256 mode. Also, if you have
the capability, use a sound effect such as Concert Hall or Auditorium or
similar.
Then be sure to listen to "Chaos City"
<https://sites.google.com/site/audiofractals/mp3-files/chaos-city> ;}.
I used the "x" sound= parameter to produce one side of the stereo file and
the "y" parameter for the other stereo channel. (I can't remember which).
The par file is for the "x" side.
I find that it is best not to try to squirrel audio fractals into your
definition of "music". They are meant to be explorations of fractals
aurally. Each tone represents a single result in the series of calculations
used in determining the color of a single pixel of the visual fractal.
Just relax, and let the audio take you where it will. Sometimes "music"
happens. I think that there are striking similarities to Jazz in many audio
fractals. (While I may call them "Jazz", I'm not sure they are "Music";} )
Enjoy! (or not)
