FOTD -- January 23, 2012 (Rating 7.5) Fractal visionaries and enthusiasts: Today's level 7-1/2 image is another venture into a corrupted oversized Mandelbrot set. With the imag(p1) parameter being negative, this M-set is rotated 180 degrees, with its normally westward-pointing spike pointing eastward. The change to a quartic Mandeloid is just beginning to appear as an irregularity in the M-set's minor buds and traces of outside stuff scattered about the inside of its main bay and buds. Today's image lies in a speck of outside stuff that has just condensed inside the main bay of the parent M-set. The large quartic Minibrot in the image stands out like a gold medal of honor against a celestial blue background, but I doubt that a fractal can have something as subjective as honor, so I named the image "Badge of Merit", which is a smaller award, but something that may honestly be applied to a fractal. The recent string of images with a rating of 7-1/2 continues unbroken. But as I said recently, such a rating is not to be sneezed at. If today's image did not resemble recent images so closely, the rating might have been higher. The calculation time of 25 seconds is one of the briefest on record, and will bring impatience to no one. FOTD -- January 22, 2012 (Rating 7.5) Fractal visionaries and enthusiasts: If an order-8 infestation can produce interesting and symmetrical images such as yesterday's in an oversized Mandelbrot set, what might a quartic infestation produce? Today we find out. The parent fractal is an oversized Mandelbrot set that has been rotated 180 degrees and is starting to take on quartic characteristics. Today's scene is actually located inside the large period-2 bud along the positive X-axis, where the stuff that will eventually transform the whole fractal into a quartic one is just starting to condense. I named the image "Blue Quartic Dreams". It kind of fits the image, and I could think of nothing better. The rating of a 7-1/2 is getting to be a habit, but if we're going to get stuck on a single rating, it is best for the rating to be at least a little above average. The calculation time of 1-1/4 minutes shows how fast the image is. Good things sometimes do happen fast. FOTD -- January 21, 2012 (Rating 7.5) Fractal visionaries and enthusiasts: In today's FOTD I have infected an oversized Mandelbrot set with some Z^8 stuff and checked its huge East Valley to see what the infection causes to happen there. The first thing I discovered was that when order-8 minibrots mix with quadratic ones, things work out nice and symmetrically around the minibrots, with the powers-of-two series intact. Today's image shows how neat and orderly things appear when all the numbers fall compactly into place. (Reduce the real(p1) parameter to 7 and notice how quickly all that hard-earned symmetry vanishes.) I named the image "Eight Bells", which on a ship happens six times a day. I can give no logical reason for the name other than a recognition of the order-8 stuff that has corrupted but not diminished the large parent Mandelbrot set. The rating of a 7-1/2 might have been higher if I had had more time to work on the coloring. As it is, the colors are a bit flat, but not so flat as to be boring. The calculation time of just under 2 minutes will pass fast once the detail starts to appear at the top of the frame. But 2 minutes is still 2 minutes. FL had the hot coffee waiting when I returned inside. The weather for the rest of the day was cloudy with a temperature of 27F -3C. The humans found a little relaxation at a local antique mall. A few Santa Clause can be interpreted here, no worry Santa got time and he is far from being alone. A few phenomenon on my computer has i left the deep modification of neurone parameter under color cycle for sleep. FOTD -- January 20, 2012 (Rating 7.5) Fractal visionaries and enthusiasts: Today's image takes us into the depths of an oversized Mandelbrot set that has been corrupted by order-17 stuff. The area we examine is the filament of the period-8 bud just west of the large period-3 bud on the north shore of the M-set. After diving to a depth of over 4*(10^9) we come upon today's scene of a perfect order-17 minibrot surrounded by the quadratic features of its parent M-set. The scene reminds me of the stuff such as scented candles, feel-good slogans, teddy bears, New-Age supplies, etc. found in one of those 'country gift' shops that have sprung up in the abandoned downtown districts of many towns. I think the general name of this stuff is 'primitives'. This pseudo-country stuff is supposed to create a feeling of how we imagine it might have felt living in the truly rural countryside about a century ago. Longing for the truly better days of yore, I named the image "Primitive Life". After contemplating the image's pluses and minuses, I decided on a rating of an everyday 7-1/2. Since i had a collection of screen theif on my system i kept a few habit like surfing looser who is another experiment. dragon emmiter of flower was just a O. hi.. and so i kept yesterday has a looser only the surprised... i send it in a rush. By any luck if i find the dragon who transform into a sea flower i will think about it... i have a site who cam can be the equivalence of this reaction into human, only one i kept for erection of pyramide is freexcafe... just do not jail hem if you curious, and please library check only cause, even with the lowest pyramide it's hard with it to keep cpu and uc male down....
