Solely i cry had laught watching the result. funny i feel super sleepy and at the same time 100% high. Anyone know which one gets used? The parameters for continuous potential are: potential=maxcolor[/slope[/modulus[/16bit]]] These parameters are present on the <Y> options screen. "Maxcolor" is the color corresponding to zero potential, which plots as the TOP of the mountain. Generally this should be set to one less than the number of colors, i.e. usually 255. Remember that the last few colors of the default IBM VGA palette are BLACK, so you won't see what you are really getting unless you change to a different palette. "Slope" affects how rapidly the colors change -- the slope of the "mountains" created in 3D. If this is too low, the palette will not cover all the potential values and large areas will be black. If it is too high, the range of colors in the picture will be much less than those available. There is no easy way to predict in advance what this value should be. "Modulus" is the // bailout // value used to determine when an orbit has "escaped". Larger values give more accurate and smoother potential. A value of 500 gives excellent results. As noted, this value must be <128 for the integer fractal types (if you select a higher number, they will use 127). "16bit": If you transform a continuous potential image to 3D, the illumination modes 5 and 6 will work fine, but the colors will look a bit granular. This is because even with 256 colors, the continuous potential is being truncated to integers. FOTD -- November 21, 2011 (Rating 7) Fractal visionaries and enthusiasts: Today's image resulted when I combined 10 parts of Z^(-0.1) with Z^(2) and added straight (C) to generate a parent fractal that from all appearances is an obliterated Mandelbrot set. A vague Mandelbrot shape is still evident in the surrounding bands, which would indicate that most of the action lies in the eastern part of the main bay of the obliterated M-set. The open parts of the actual parent fractal bear no resemblance to a Mandelbrot shape however, with the only true buds lying along the X-axis. Today's image is located near the tip of a zigzagging filament extending from a bud just north of the X-axis, near the western part of the parent fractal. I named the image "A Long Crooked Path". This refers not to the path to heaven, but to the path from the fractal bud out the fractal filament to the scene of today's image. The rating of a 7 indicates that the image has at least some worth, and that the quick calculation time of 55 seconds will make the calculation only a minor annoyance. With the commercial work slowing down, perhaps coming to an end, the humans had a reasonably routine day. I whanted to post on the show, my best deep zooming find , who is a fractal ELk, but i only got a image of it remnant, the formulae vanish and some other information probably a frame file, i had a khepric dual antenna also, who been parsed in another accidental moment, (just before a solo sempron drop), this time sempron whas funny he did morse before he drop.. Anyway a little tired speaking about drop T. This fractal is a deep zooming in a frame who after a long zooming periode absolutely change aspect , it felt like i broke thru the noise i was looking for it to end. the result is extremely pretty, and how to get back their? i only have function 2 to get to this particular resulte of day4 frame. It show clearly the presence of your community of judge and calculator behind, a tick and superbe Moire reaction..7.5 on the Muth scale here anyway.... FOTD -- November 20, 2011 (Rating 6) Fractal visionaries and enthusiasts: Perhaps the most striking feature of today's image is the name I gave it. "Peanuts in the Knight" is the first phrase that came to mind when I shut off rational thought in search of an interesting name. Since the name found me rather than me finding it, I have no logical connection between the name and the image other than the vaguely peanut-shaped holes surrounding the minibrot. And nothing that I can see in the image even hints at a noble knight of long ago. I also doubt that peanuts were on a knight's list. The parent fractal of today's image came about when I subtracted two parts of Z^(1.5) from Z^(2) on every iteration before adding (C). This parent fractal, which lies totally in positive real territory, is a Mandelbrot set with a reasonably normal main bay east of Seahorse Valley, but when we pass west of Seahorse Valley, where the circular period-2 main bud would be expected, we find a surprising north-south series of three partially merged buds. Today's image lies near the X-axis on the western edge of this series of buds. The rating of a 6 is all I could do for the image. I could have spent more time on the coloring, but I saw too little potential to make the effort. The calculation time of 1-1/3 minutes is near average for a FOTD image. Tristesse it's kinda sad in english but not quite.. Since the halloween storm calm out, might be good to add, that during storm time, i'am impulsive in communication.
