wishlist and buglist
Hi Jon,
Would it be possible to edit some of the inane comments out of the Fractint bug list and wish list?
Certainly, it has been getting a bit cluttered lately, some people seem to think the buglist is a place to report *any* bugs with windows! better get that idea quashed real soon or we're going to be snowed right under :-) I'll add in some stuff about win2k /XP too like you asked for recently. Great work getting some ASM code going under xfractint BTW, Thanks! I've got a laptop all set up with debian gnu/linux and have got xfractint compiling now so I'll see if I can get my old dxf output patch in to warm up. Sorry about the long pause in fractint work but I've been busy getting an object oriented head on by trying some UnrealScript coding... anyone remember Tron? http://www.planetunreal.com/utron :-) I'm also getting familiar with CVS and have my own server hanging off a cable modem now and I'll see if I can't get xfractint checked in for us to play with if you like (though ISTR Damien may have CVS on julia already which might be a better option) Merry Xmas to everyone and have a great new year! Cheers, Robin. ------------------------------------------------- This mail sent through UK Online webmail
Robin,
I've got a laptop all set up with debian gnu/linux and have got xfractint compiling now so I'll see if I can get my old dxf output patch in to warm up.
I'm using the Mandrake distribution on both a laptop and a desktop. The desktop isn't really set up again after loading Mandrake 8.0. The C compiler and other necessary programs/include files disappeared.
I'm also getting familiar with CVS and have my own server hanging off a cable modem now and I'll see if I can't get xfractint checked in for us to play with if you like (though ISTR Damien may have CVS on julia already which might be a better option)
I've read a little about CVS. Tried playing with it using a Windows version with no luck at all. Not even using a local repository. I do know that Damien needs to give us read/write access to the repository on julia before we'll be able to use it. Haven't said anything about it out of laziness. And, considering my current project of compiling with -Wall and using indent, I'd need to check out the whole source anyway. Which is the whole idea. Duh! 8-)) Happy Holidays, Jonathan
I think migrating out "diff" system to CVS is a good idea, though as long as Jonathan is the only one making changes, it's no big deal. CVS will become more useful the first minute we have multiple people making changes. I suggest whoever gets to it first try to set up a server with a trial project. I can run CVS on my home system, or mirror someone else's CVS (e.g. Robin if he does it first). We should maintain the present system in parallel until we are comfortable with CVS. I have CVS running at work, but since the project I was working on was almost done, I didn't use it myself. I'll start using it with my next project. On another subject, what is the problem re Fractint and XP? Tim
