I did a little research, and it appears that there is no obstacle to making Fractint GPL and linking to Allegro. This subject is mindnumbingly complicated. I want to do this accurately without spending my life studying legalisms. Hopefully this is possible. :-) I have a pretty good idea which contributors gave us rights to their software. I'll try to contact others. The remaining code will have to be rewritten. While this isn't easy, neither is it a daunting impossibility. Tim
