Mandelbrot's all I care about, so that's good to know. Either way, I wish you success with your program.

Actually, it does. But only for a limited number of fractals. I am currently upgrading all the Tierazon fractals to full arbitrary precision. However, my arbitrary precision is a bit slower than Fractint as I don’t use assembler. It has been optimised for Mandelbrot.

That's be cool too. Then you wouldn't have to make the user adjust the maximum iterations! Your program, however, doesn't have arbitrary precision, correct?

Thanks MrMormon.

I’ll download the source code for this J I could add it to my own fractal program… ManpWIN.

Check out the Rima Mandelbrot explorer (http://jtoomim.org/rima/ ) and you'll notice that it can display each iteration as it's calculated. I wrote my own program once simply because I wanted this feature. It'd be really neat if Fractint had this. Hopefully this wouldn't be a problem for the algorithmic optimizations Fractint uses.
