If you need an XMission account through which to do the DNS with XMission, we can use mine, just let me know.
I appreciate the offer, but probably the account is needed to manage the domain name. I'd like to do that myself. Damien suggested godaddy.com. It's certainly cheap - about $8.00. They also have an option for protection from a whois search for additional money by use of a proxy to be in the whois database. However, my email is so exposed already that I'm not sure that tactic would make a dent in spam. Hmmm - I could make a new email at swbell.net and use it as the contact to transfer the domain name. Then I could tell exactly if spam came from that source.
For $15/yr I would also add in fractint.net. I get tired of people squatting on domains so they can extort fees from the people to whom the domain actually relates.
I think I'll do that. I could probably get fractint.com too since the person holding it seems friendly, though he renewed it recently (October). If I don't hear any additional advice to the contrary, I'll probably use godaddy.com. I have to take action prior to January 19th because the expiration is January 29th. I may make the decision based on available services. Tim
