I'm considering dyndns.org because they have give me reliable free DNS service, and are cheaper than network solutions (flat $15/year). I wouldn't mind giving the business to xmission.com because they have been so great helping with the mailing lists, though it looks like I can only use them if I have an account (not practical because they are in Utah).
If you need an XMission account through which to do the DNS with XMission, we can use mine, just let me know.
Any suggestions/recommendations of good domain name providers?
For my demoscene stuff, I'm getting DNS service through another demoscene site, so I haven't needed to pay for it yet.
FWIW, fractint.net is available. Fractint.com is taken. (For my purposes, fractint.org is sufficient). Hmmm, the fellow who has fractint.com might be able to renew fractint.org, I'll ask.
For $15/yr I would also add in fractint.net. I get tired of people squatting on domains so they can extort fees from the people to whom the domain actually relates. -- "The Direct3D Graphics Pipeline"-- code samples, sample chapter, FAQ: <http://www.xmission.com/~legalize/book/> Pilgrimage: Utah's annual demoparty <http://pilgrimage.scene.org>
