True, except that these two formula types are generally much slower due to the exponentials and logs in the formulas - but if the Windows slowdown is based upon the number of pixels and not based on math calculation time, then they should have a much less noticeable speed ratio. I'll experiment with them.
Yes, the calculation time should be identical -- unless some things get faster because the optimizer in the current compiler is better than the previous compiler. And this is certainly the case.
