Someone reported to me -- it might even have been you -- that the current C implementation actually benchmarked faster than the old DOS assembly implementation.
It was not me. But I'm pleased to learn that C compilers, CPUs and FPUs are so good now. Thanks for your detailed comments on my email. It is always great to have motivations, reasons, ramifications, etc. of major decisions about program changes clarified so that any adjustments needed in the philosophy of the changes can be made earlier, rather than later. Also, others may not be aware of all of your reasoning behind the particular changes you are making and proposing. Thanks for all the great work you have done getting the beta out there. (Is beta 5 the most current?) Would you please republish the link for the latest beta (to [Fractint]) to help more people try it -- and give you more feedback... - Hal Lane ######################### # hallane@earthlink.net <mailto:hallane@earthlink.net> # ######################### No virus found in this outgoing message.
