You look dreadfully fit. How do you run 42Km? I have difficulty on our 14Km City to Surf.
As far as being in shape is concerned, I could definitely drop some more weight. I am a complete non-athlete. As long as one is physically sound there is no secret, anyone can do it. I saw people of every shape and size running the Motorola Marathon in Austin, TX. Run regularly (4 or 5 days a week) and slowly increase the distance of the weekly long run up to about 30K over an 18 week period. See http://halhigdon.com. I actually met Hal on one of my marathons about two miles into the run. He was running seven marathons in seven months to celebrate his 70th birthday. He confessed he wasn't ready for that particular marathon (Duluth Minnesota Grandma's marathon, June 2002.) Slow though I am, he finished in six hours, half an hour after me. :-) It does get time consuming, especially if you are slow like me. But I enjoy it, and it is a matter of protecting ones health as we age. But to be honest, a marathon is way more than is needed for health. When I am not training I run about 20 miles a week divided over five days. Tim
