I owe you a cleanup of the float only packages I already uploaded. That doesn't need to be a new patch. Then there's some more stuff we can take out for a new patch as we discussed about before.
The packages that are there now I believe are accurate as far as the code is concerned. They were just deficient as distributable packages in their selection of files. I'll fix that.
I'm glad you remember.
I didn't do anything on fractint this weekend (nor the last few, for that matter). I installed a 100 gb drive to use as backup for my computers. The drive cost me $150 with tax. I recall spending $900 for a 10 mb drive :-) I was worried if my computer was too old for the new drive, and was suprised that I didn't even have to enter any numbers in setup. Plug and play actually works.
I'll work on Fractint this coming weekend if not sooner.
I installed a CD burner and more memory. Plus Mandrake 8.2 on two computers. My laptop is about back to normal. I managed to compile XFractint last night.
Mandrake is usually aggressive about using compiler optimizations that obsolete older chips. Which exact pentiums are obsolete? I haven't had any trouble.
It's a 233 MHz with MMX. It just looks like they made a mistake when they assembled the distribution CDs. Jonathan
