I did a folder diff using Beyond Compare 2 (I recommend this as your CVS diff/merge tool if you're not already using it!) and it was fairly easy to see what changed from the existing head to the float-only version. Lots of l* stuff deleted :-). So at some point I could merge all that stuff into my branch as well.
