Rich Thompson's 'Fractint for Windows' and the current DOS Fractint version can both overcome the limit of 2048 pixels by using a configuration file to allow the creation process of fractals to use disk files and or RAM instead of the screen.
First, my apologies to Rich, I had meant to cc him on the email, but pasted the list by "mistake", but it was a good mistake I think! Thanks Hal! I did remember overcoming the pixel limit (I sure I coded a lot of the high rez logic myself) but I had forgotton the details. Your answer cleared it up nicely. Rich or anyone, can you remind me where Rich's FractInt for Windows executable and source is? Thanks, Tim
