It certainly got mine when I was told that Reid flew in to visit with Tom Holmoe. I don't yet have any proof on the patina of this story and based on the Kansas City Chiefs' schedule and BYU's pay scale, it doesn't make any sense. But as they say on the Antiques Roadshow, the patina probability of this story may be lacking, but the provenance of the guy saying Reid was in town is outstanding. That said, the scenario with KC knee deep in a playoff run is sketchy. But what the heck we all need a little hope after the last few days. The logistics of this ever happening, given the remaining NFL schedule and BYU's need to get back to recruiting with an announced head coach, just doesn't make sense. But nothing else has made sense in the hiring of a new coach since Bronco bid bye-bye two weeks ago. If this guy saying Reid and Holmoe met and is right and somehow, someway, BYU could nab Reid, would he be worth waiting for? And of course, somehow, someway, Reid would have to be okay with a serious pay cut (about $5 million per year). Maybe this will be a BYU Dickens Cougar Christmas Carol with a Ghost of Christmas Past (Niumatalolo) a Ghost of Christmas Present (Sitake) and a Ghost of Christmas Yet to Come (Reid). If Reid did fly in yesterday evening, it would have been after the Chiefs practiced and Reid addressed the media (my guess is that if there was indeed a meeting, Holmoe either flew to KC or the duo met someplace like Denver or Dallas). Click Here to hear Reid <http://www.kcchiefs.com/news/article-2/Heres-What-We-Learned-From-Andy-Reid -on-Wednesday/d0fc3644-8901-4b00-8663-b8fcda2c907c> in his Wednesday press conference. I found his demeanor at the microphone refreshingly coach like. If this Reid deal turns out to be spurious as it likely will be, then next up will be D.B. Cooper. He is reportedly set for a reunion tour and could "drop" into Provo sometime soon to interview with Holmoe, the BOT and the FBI. Salary will not be a factor because, with time and interest, what he got from his last drop will see him through any coaching tenure he has at BYU or Leavenworth. If somehow Tom Holmoe and the Board of Trustees can put a Cougar Cap on Reid, BYU will be back in the football business. Of course if the FBI can somehow put the cuffs on Cooper, they will also be back in business. Meanwhile, with Utah already getting amped up for the game, click to see video <https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VDmV5g1yg5Q> , BYU football fans need a little increased amperage and voltage to get them through this continuing Cougar circus of a coach hiring. Andy Reid certainly has the juice to do just that if true.
