City Art will present its annual meltdown on Wednesday, September 7th at 7:00 P.M. at the Salt Lake Public Library Main Branch.  The meltdown includes the top vote-getters among Utah writers and so offers fifteen to twenty of the best literary figures of the state reading for five minutes each.  It traditionally begins the City Art Reading series, which meets the first three Wednesdays of every month from September through June.    This year’s event will again feature some of Utah’s favorite writers as voted for by the audience of City Art including the following: Lisa Bickmore, Kimberly Johnson, Sandy Anderson, Paisley Rekdal, Lynn Kilpatrick, Shanan Ballam, Lance Larsen, Natasha Saje, Michael Sowder, Jennifer Tonge, Star Coulbrooke, Michael McLane, Katharine Coles, Joel Long, and Rachel Marston.    The event is free and open to the public.  City Art is sponsored by the Utah Arts Council, the Salt Lake City Arts Council, Zoo, Arts, and Parks, X-mission, and audience donations.
