Writers Jerry VanIeperen and Esther Lee will read from their work on October 14that the Salt Lake City Public Library at 7:00 P.M. Jerry VanIeperen lives in Salt Lake City, Utah and is one of the founders/editors of the Sugar House Review and formerly worked as an editor for Petrogylph. He is a winner of Utah State University's creative writing contest and recently earned an MFA from the University of Nebraska. His poems have appeared in Black Rock & Sage, Bring the Ink, Scribendi, and The City Art Journal. Esther Lee received her M.F.A. in Creative Writing from IndianaUniversity where she served as Editor-in-Chief for Indiana Review. She's been awarded the Elinor Benedict Poetry Prize; twice nominated for a Pushcart Prize, and nominated for a Ruth Lilly Fellowship. She used to work as Editor-in-Chief for Tea Party magazine in SanFrancisco and is currently a Ph.D. candidate in literature at theUniversity of Utah. The event is free and open to the public. City Art is sponsored by the Utah Arts Council, the Salt Lake City Arts Council, Zoo, Arts, and Parks, XMission, and audience donations. The featured reading will be followed by an open reading.
