Poets Nathan Hauke and Esther Lee will read from their poems at the Salt Lake Public Library Main Branch on Wednesday January 21st at 7:00. Esther Lee received her M.F.A. in Creative Writing from Indiana University where she served as Editor-in-Chief for Indiana Review. She's been awarded the Elinor Benedict Poetry Prize; twice nominated for a Pushcart Prize.Her poems and articles have appeared in Ploughshares, Verse Daily, Salt Hill, Good Foot, Cream City Review, Hyphen, Born Magazine, among others. Her chapbook, The Blank Missives, was published by Trafficker Press in 2007. Her poetry manuscript, Little Lung Damage, has recently been a finalist or semi-finalist for several prizes, including the Prairie Schooner Prize, New Issues's Green Rose Prize, Pleiades Press, as well as for the "Discovery"/The Nation Award and Vassar Miller Prize. She used to work as Editor-in-Chief for Tea Party magazine in San Francisco and is currently a Ph.D. candidate in literature at the University of Utah. Nathan Hauke lives in Salt Lake City. His poetry has been published in Colorado Review, Denver Quarterly, Electronic Poetry Review; EOAGH; Forklift, Ohio; Free Verse; Greatcoat; Gutcult; Interim; New American Writing; Parthenon West; Reconfigurations; The Tiny; Twenty Six; Word For/ Word; and XANTIPPE.
