Shawn Fawson to read at City Art along with the end of the
season Open Reading

The
end of the year open reading this year features a special guest, Shawn Fawson
along with anyone else who would like to read their own works at the Salt Lake
City Public Library at 7:00 P.M. as part of the City Art Reading Series. Please come out and bring your poems
and prose to read and maybe some food and beverages to share.
Winner of the Utah Book Award for Poetry, Shawn Fawson resides with her
two daughters in Denver, Colorado, where she studies in the MDIV Program at the
Iliff School of Theology with the hopes of bringing the intersections of poetry
and pastoral care to hospital chaplaincy. Her book "Giving Way" was
published by The Bitter Oleander Press in 2010 and won the Utah Book Award for
Poetry in 2011. Her work has appeared in Natural Bridge, Vallum, and
Mid-American Review, among others. Most recently she won the 2012 South Loop
non-fiction Prize. She holds an MFA from Vermont College of Fine Arts.
Most featured
readings are followed by an open reading. City Art is sponsored by the Utah
