Hello everyone, I have a few updates to share regarding some of our services: ________________________________ 1. Updates to LexileMeasures(tm) Integration Over the next couple of months, we'll begin integrating an updated LexileMeasures(tm) database, which will offer expanded enrichment options. These enhancements are still in development, and I'll send out a follow-up announcement once they're live - but they're on the way! Important Notes: * ISBNs are required in records to retrieve these new options, which will now include select Spanish-language titles. * Any associated costs are still being finalized. If you're interested in exploring these new features, please reach out to your project manager for more information. Highlights of the update include: * An expanded LexileMeasures(tm) database with access to a broader range of titles. * Support for missing series titles - a feature I'm particularly excited about! * We're exploring a more complex enhancement: the potential to insert a custom field that isolates the phonetic focus of Decodable books. This data will be extracted from non-standard metadata formats, so implementation may take some time. ________________________________ 2. ProQuest Syndetics (Bowker) Services Renewal We've renewed our agreement with ProQuest Syndetics (Bowker) and are once again offering: * Tables of Contents * Summaries * Author Notes * Fiction Profiles New addition coming soon: Award Notes. These will require some additional programming before going live. Please note: These services incur costs based on the data you choose to include. If you're interested, contact us for an estimate. ________________________________ 3. Updates to Indigenous Peoples Authority Records I've completed a review of our locally created Indigenous peoples authority records. Key updates include: * Correction of heading structure inconsistencies. * Addition of $z America to broader headings that could potentially conflict with existing LC authority terms. * Most notably, we will no longer auto-convert "Indians of North America$zCanada" to "First Nations." While we previously had an additional authority for "Indigenous peoples$zCanada," it caused conversion issues when records also included Métis and/or Inuit content. Moving forward, "Indigenous peoples$zCanada" will be the preferred conversion for these records. Previous conversion authorities now exist solely as validation records. These changes should go live within the next week, and the online spreadsheet will be updated accordingly. ________________________________ 4.
