Subject validation records from LC
Thanks for following up on these new records. Is there a way to differentiate them from regular subject heading authority records? Something in the fixed field, perhaps? We need to be able to pull these out of the file and manually load them not batch load them. By the way, I just looked on the CPSO website and SACO website and don't see anything about these records. Is there some place on the web where we can read more about this? Hi Leslie, Currently, it looks like the only way to differentiate the records from other authority records is with the presence of a custom 667 field: 667__$aRecord generated for validation purposes. Here's an example LC record: 001__sh2007100011 003__DLC 005__20070910130333.0 008__070907|| anannbabn |n ana 040__$aDLC$beng$cDLC 010__$ash2007100011 151__$aUnited States$xRelations$zMiddle East 667__$aRecord generated for validation purposes. 670__$aWork cat.: The clash of barbarisms, c2002 Also, here's a brief synopsis of the CDS announcement: http://www.loc.gov/cds/notices/2007-05-25-Subject_Authority_Validation_Recor...
