With what feels like an inevitable change coming to LCSH regarding Gulf of Mexico and Denali … we’re trying to get ahead of the game and are talking internally about how to help you all retain the actual terminology that you want so we can act quickly if needed.

Assuming the changes are officially accepted by LC, please email us with what you prefer (if you haven’t already):

• Do NOT allow the changes to happen, retain 2^nd indicator 0
• Do NOT allow the changes to happen, change 2^nd indicator to 4
• Do NOT allow the changes to happen, change 2^nd indicator to 7 with $2 local
• Allow the changes to happen, don’t do anything special
• Allow the changes to happen BUT ALSO have an additional 6XX field with the original term(s) … please be specific about what you would like
• Something else …
