PALACE OF VARIETY TO REOPEN ON 42nd STREET! YOUR HELP
NEEDED! ******************************************************************************
The Bindlestiff Family Cirkus Palace of Variety and FREE Museum
of Times Square is scheduled to reopen its doors on 42nd Street on
January 1, 2004.
Celebrating the 100th anniversary of Times
Square, Bindlestiff are bringing NYC's only Variety House back to the
heart of the entertainment district. In order to do this, we need your
support in the form of services and/or donations. We are in need of
funds and services for all aspects of our production and all donations
are tax deductible.
If you were unable to visit the Palace of
Variety during its last run, you must experience this urban treasure
this time. It is a 70 seat theater, equipped to handle aerial
performances. The high traffic lobby of the theater is an intimate
museum devoted to the history of
Times Square and the illegitimate theater of NYC.
It is an
excellent place to promote a business with ample opportunity for sign
placements on 42nd street, ads in
our weekly programs and in our quarterly cirkus publication, The
Roustabout Reporter.
The Palace of Variety is able to provide a
financially accessible venue for productions. We tend to support the
variety arts, sideshow, vaudeville, clowns, buffoons, burlesque, skit
comedy, political satire,etc.--though have been know to bring in
"straight" Theater. If you would like more information about the
details and surprisingly low cost of producing your own production at
the Palace, e-mail cirkus@bindlestiff.org.

*************************************************************** HIGH HEELS & RED NOSES WEST COAST
TOUR
CANCELLED! ***************************************************************
Due to financial circumstances we have decided to cancel
our upcoming fall tour. This is unprecedented in our 8 year history
as a touring entity. As you know, the economy is bad everywhere and
all industries are hard hit. Entertainment, especially in our end of the
spectrum- the independent and un-funded arts groups- is hardest hit
of all.
We are currently evaluating our current tour habits and
may revise the schedule to hit the West Coast in the Spring and the
East Coast in the Fall. For those of you that purchased tickets in
advance for these, contact the venue and your money will be
refunded.
We are focusing our energy and resources into the
revival of the Palace of Variety in Times Square and our plans for
presenting "High Heels and Red Noses" on tour in the spring and fall of
2004 are unaffected by this decision.
Hope to see you all down
the road somewhere!"
